3 Days · From Marrakech
Some trips are about ticking boxes, but this 3-day desert trip departing from Marrakech is about taking the time to really feel the Erg Chebbi dunes of Merzouga and the Todra Gorges. With a carefully organised format, a local driver who knows every turn of the road and stays chosen for their character, it is an easy and relaxed way to discover Morocco.
About This Tour
The journey from Marrakech crosses the High Atlas through the Tizi n'Tichka pass, then continues past kasbahs, oases and red earth villages, with plenty of stops for photos and tea along the way.
Erg Chebbi stretches for about 22 kilometres near the Algerian border, and Merzouga is the village at its foot. Here you leave the vehicle behind and enter a world of sand, where the only sounds are the wind and the steps of the camels.
The Todra Gorges are narrow canyons where vertical walls of rock rise up to 300 metres on either side of a clear stream. A short walk inside the gorge is a refreshing break and a highlight of the road to the desert.
Over 3 days and 2 nights, the itinerary balances time on the road with visits and moments to relax. Distances are planned so you arrive before dark whenever possible, and your driver is always ready to stop for a viewpoint, a coffee or a short walk.
Camels are gentle animals and the ride needs no experience. Wear comfortable clothes, wrap a scarf around your head like the locals do, and enjoy the rolling motion as the dunes turn gold around you.
This tour can be combined with extra nights in Marrakech or Fes, other excursions or airport transfers. Just let us know in the message field of the booking form and we will build the perfect plan for you.
