About This Tour

Getting to Erg Chigaga is part of the adventure: after M'Hamid the asphalt ends and the journey continues off-road through open desert. The reward is a huge area of untouched dunes, perfect for travellers who want a quieter side of the Sahara.

M'Hamid is the last village at the end of the road in the Draa Valley, a traditional meeting point for caravans. From here the desert begins in earnest, and nomad families still move with their herds across the surrounding plains.

Over 2 days and 1 night, the itinerary balances time on the road with visits and moments to relax. Distances are planned so you arrive before dark whenever possible, and your driver is always ready to stop for a viewpoint, a coffee or a short walk.

The 4×4 part of the trip takes you to places that ordinary cars cannot reach, such as rocky tracks, dry lakes and small desert villages. Our drivers know the terrain well and drive safely while making it an adventure.
