2 Days · From Marrakech
Some trips are about ticking boxes, but this 2-day desert trip from Marrakech to Fes or Marrakech is about taking the time to really feel the Erg Chebbi dunes of Merzouga and the medina of Fes. With a carefully organised format, a local driver who knows every turn of the road and stays chosen for their character, it is an easy and relaxed way to discover Morocco.
About This Tour
The journey from Marrakech crosses the High Atlas through the Tizi n'Tichka pass, then continues past kasbahs, oases and red earth villages, with plenty of stops for photos and tea along the way.
Erg Chebbi stretches for about 22 kilometres near the Algerian border, and Merzouga is the village at its foot. Here you leave the vehicle behind and enter a world of sand, where the only sounds are the wind and the steps of the camels.
Fes is the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco. Its medina is one of the largest car-free urban areas in the world, full of artisans, old madrasas, fountains and the famous leather tanneries.
Over 2 days and 1 night, the itinerary balances time on the road with visits and moments to relax. Distances are planned so you arrive before dark whenever possible, and your driver is always ready to stop for a viewpoint, a coffee or a short walk.
Camels are gentle animals and the ride needs no experience. Wear comfortable clothes, wrap a scarf around your head like the locals do, and enjoy the rolling motion as the dunes turn gold around you.
Pick-up from your hotel or riad is included, and we can also arrange airport transfers or extra nights. Send us your request through the form and we will prepare a programme that fits your plans.
